HowToBowl CB Masters Bracket Changes for 2024

We are excited to introduce some significant changes to the CB Masters bracket for this year’s event, making it more competitive and streamlined. With a unique 32-person double-elimination format, we have adjusted the structure to accommodate a more efficient schedule while rewarding top performers. Here’s what you need to know!

Key Changes to the Bracket Structure

1. Top 8 Seeds Receive Byes:

  • This year, the top 8 seeds from the qualifying and cashers' rounds will be rewarded with byes to help streamline the tournament and create more strategic play.

    • Top 4 Seeds: Will receive a three-round bye, advancing directly to the 5th round.

    • Seeds 5-8: Will receive a one-round bye, advancing to the 2nd round.

This change rewards those who perform well in the early stages, giving them a significant advantage in the bracket and recognizing their efforts in qualifying and the cashers' round. Additionally, for those outside the top 8, it creates a smoother path through the early rounds without facing the top-seeded players immediately.

2. Modified Finals Format:

  • Traditionally, the final two bowlers in the winners' bracket would face each other, with the loser moving to the elimination bracket. This year, the last two bowlers in the winners' bracket will face the final two bowlers in the elimination bracket in a semi-final round.

    • Bowlers from the winners' bracket will need to be beaten twice.

    • The winners of these semi-final matches will compete in a single match to decide the title, with no further need for a second match based on previous losses.

This format change ensures that the most consistent bowlers have the best chance to succeed while adding an exciting dynamic to the final matches.
