The anticipation is electric as we stand on the brink of a new season. The Trillion Mortgage Open marks the kickoff of Season 2 of the CB TOUR, and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever before. Last season was nothing short of legendary, with thrilling matches, unexpected upsets, and a level of competition that pushed every bowler to their limits. But as we turn the page to a new chapter, we are ready to elevate the game to new heights.
Season 2 is poised to redefine excellence in bowling. The stakes are higher, the competition fiercer, and the journey more exhilarating. The list of CB TOUR Champions is the shortest in the sport, boasting just two names: Alex Hoskins and Kendle Miles. Adding your name to that exclusive list is an accomplishment few will match, a testament to skill, resilience, and sheer determination.
As we head into the Trillion Mortgage Open, the magic of the CB TOUR will once again captivate audiences and bowlers alike. This season, we will witness unparalleled performances, new venues, and the same spirit of relentless competition that defines the CB TOUR. This event is not just a tournament; it's a stage where champions are made, and every shot counts.
The Trillion Mortgage Open is just the beginning of what promises to be an epic season. With so much talent and determination, we can't wait to see who will rise to the occasion. Now, let’s dive into our top rankings for the Trillion Mortgage Open and see who has the best chance of making history. With the list of CB TOUR Champions so exclusive, adding your name to it is a monumental achievement.
So, before we dive into the excitement of the new season, let's set the stage with our top rankings for the Trillion Mortgage Open. With names like Dallas Leong out of the field and Alex Hoskins coming off an injury, who will rise to the occasion? Who will earn their place among the legends? Get ready, because Season 2 is about to begin, and it's going to be an unforgettable ride.
First, I would be remiss without acknowledging some folks who are exceptional talents, but there's only 10 spots on this list. Dallas Burke, Tyler Lopez, Clay Rees, Eric Tsuchida, Riley Woodard, and Steve Kloempken all will be serious threats at a deep run in the bracket. For one reason or another, I feel that the top 10 just have a better chance, however, with the nature of the finals, anything can happen, and I absolutely want anything to happen.
10. Justin Verner - Justin had some great success last year on the CB TOUR, particularly in this bowling center. He and Riley went the distance in their three-game match after a tie in the first game. They went to a roll-off where Justin came out on top. This year we have added an additional cashers round game, and all bracket matches will be best of 2 moving forward. Justin has been gritty, finding a way to win in the bracket and clutching up in the roll-off. I expect to see him make a run this weekend.
9. Yannick Roos - Yannick only bowled 1 CB TOUR event last year, the CB Masters, and had a good showing winning a few matches in the bracket. He has had some time to acclimate himself to bowling events out here, and I think he is primed to make some deep runs in the bracket this year. He is really good at managing the fresh, which here on the CB TOUR we keep things fresh. I think this season he is going to show us just how much of a competitor he really is.
8. Nick Borgaro - Nick finished runner-up at the RIGC that took place here at Jack and Jill Lehi after a messenger ripped right behind the 10 pin. It was an epic match between him and Alex, but the pins just didn't fall his way. After a disappointing finish at the CB Masters, missing the CKSO, and a solid finish at the CBTC, Nick finished 5th in points and 7th in CB TOUR average. Nick is coming off an injury, and that is why he is so far down on this list. Nick bowls well in the center and has competed well in the bracket in CB TOUR events. As long as his injury doesn’t flare up, Nick will be a force to be reckoned with in the bracket.
7. Kyle Morrison - Kyle has really burst out after some amazing performances last year and a 3rd place finish at the RailRoader. Kyle has a lot of experience in this bowling center, and I think his ball roll should match up well with the pattern CB TOUR partner Kegel and John Janawicz have put together. Will urethane be in play? From all accounts, everyone seems to say no matter what you put out at Jack and Jill, urethane is in play. Time will tell, as Kyle loves his thane, but regardless, he will be a threat in the bracket.
6. Chase Nadeau - Chase Nadeau had some very exciting runs last year in the first half of the CB TOUR season. He won the Shootout Doubles at the CB Masters and made both brackets at the RIGC and CB Masters. He really just needs the pins to fall his way and catch a few more wins to get that breakout win on the CB TOUR. Earlier this year, he won the Storm Utah Open, beating Manny Ferrell in the title match. There are a lot of talented bowlers in the group this year looking to make the big bucks on the CB TOUR, and Chase is at the top of that list.
5. Luke Brown - Luke Brown finished 4th place at the RIGC last year. He has a ton of experience in this bowling center, his ball rolls well here, and he has just improved as a bowler in the last year since we have seen him. He typically excels when urethane is in play, but this year we have added 3 feet to the pattern. How much of a difference will that make, and will Luke be able to adjust? Luke is another in the group of talented guys I think could snag a win on the CB TOUR this year, and this stop may be his best chance.
4. Manny Ferrell - Manny is coming off a 2nd place finish in California after having a perfect match play record until the title match. He also bowled phenomenally at the Storm Utah Open and the CBTC. Manny struggled in the first half of the CB TOUR getting adjusted to the patterns we use, but I think he is primed now to throw some big scores at us. He has thrived under pressure, and that's what the CB TOUR puts you in. Situations where you have to throw 1 great shot. He’s got the Grit to get it done in prime time. Manny and Chase are the 2 guys I think add their names to the list of CB TOUR champions this year, so look out for some fireworks this weekend.
3. Andy Kinney - Andy Kinney is looking to keep the momentum rolling after breaking out a few wins a couple of seasons ago. Last I saw him, he made the step ladder at the Railroader and took Alex Hoskins 4 rounds in a roll-off in the quarter-finals last year in the RIGC. Andy bowls well in this center, and his ball roll should be great on this pattern. Just under Chase and Manny is Andy on getting a win this year on the CB TOUR. The format is drastically different than what most are used to out here, and it takes a second to get used to the pressure you constantly feel on the CB TOUR. Andy will not be a name you want to see on your side of the bracket this weekend.
2. Giorgio Clinaz - Giorgio is on a list of “I can’t believe he hasn't won yet.” Last year at the CB Masters, he had a great run, but other than that, in Gio terms, his performance has been lackluster. I’m not entirely sure why that is at CB TOUR events because he has been so dominant everywhere else. I am curious when he’ll find what that thing is that will put him over the edge. This weekend is a very good chance for him to get the monkey off his back; this center matches up well for him, this pattern should match up well, and some very heavy hitters are coming off injury or unable to attend. I’d love to see Gio win; he’s got everything it takes to be a great champion, and by all accounts, he is, just not on the CB TOUR. This weekend could change that completely.
1. Kendle Miles - Kendle Miles, the CB TOUR Champion Bowler of the Year, 2-time champion, and high average on the CB TOUR last year. Kendle did not bowl this event last year, and still had enough points to win the points championship after a 2nd place finish at the CB Masters, 1st at the CKSO, and 1st at the CBTC. He earned those wins too, taking the matches the full distance plus roll-offs. Kendle thrived in the format we use on the CB TOUR, and other than a little rust to shake off, he is the favorite in the field. How can he not be?
History will be made this weekend. Someone will add their name to the most exclusive list in bowling. CB TOUR Champions. There are only 2, and man are they hard to win. The build-up is over, the cards are dealt, and it’s time to see what it will take to become a CB TOUR Champion.
